Welcome to the Minnesota Statewide Activity Professionals Association website.  We are glad that you found MNSWAP on the web.

The MN SWAP board is comprised of elected officers, committee chairpersons, conference co-chairs, and seven regional representatives from across the state.  Click on the “Regions” tab to the left and then click on your region on the map to access your region’s report and contact person.

Using the tabs on the left or on the bottom of the page, you will find information related to activity and recreation professionals.  All those interested in quality of life issues for seniors are welcome to become a member.  Make sure to send in your dues so that you don’t miss a newsletter.  Click on Membership tab and double click on the membership application.  If you have questions or comments related to the organization, please feel free to contact me.  Please read our mission below.

Minnesota Statewide Activity Professionals Mission

  • To provide a source of mutual support and sharing of ideas for all persons in the field of activity programming.
  • To promote and offer educational opportunities that specifically address the Activity Professional and the needs of the people they serve.
  • To work with other professional groups, regulatory agencies and provider representatives to insure the delivery of activity services in a coordinated, client oriented atmosphere.

The desire to form a state organization initially began during the summer of 1983 with the efforts of many interested activity leaders in the state of Minnesota. In the 22 years of existence, MN SWAP has grown to over 800 members. The annual fall conference draws over 500 activity professionals from around the state and is considered one of the top conferences in the nation for education and attendance.
