Therapeutic Activities Post Pandemic Lessons Learned
and Challenges for the Future (1CEU)
Speaker: Pam Hayle
When faced with a global pandemic in March of 2020, Activity
professionals quickly responded with actions demonstrating creativity
and new program modalities that were truly inspiring. The challenges
of this pandemic brought controversy, sometimes lack of resources and
overwhelming weariness due to the duration and tragic results
experienced by older adults, in care facilities, and senior living of all
program types.

Exercise that Matters for Older Adults (1CEU)
Speaker: Pam Hayle
Research has proven that exercise and wellness programs, can greatly
improve the quality of life of older adults. The content and
implementation of exercise programs varies greatly depending on the
knowledge, comfort level and implementation methods used by the
Activity Professional. Learning core concepts of physical exercise for
older adults with serious exercise programs that include strength
training, wellness tips, disease and medication considerations for type,
amount and duration of the exercise programs will be presented.

Gardening Therapeutics (1CEU)
Speaker: Christina Waters
Learn about the benefits of nature-based therapeutics and the
wonderful things that are happening with Master Gardeners.

1 pm- 2:00pm
Start with Yes (1CEU)
Speaker: Catherine Braxton
“Start with Yes” in which I walk the participants through the pivotal rule
of improv: “Yes, And…”. Again, this is highly interactive, humorous, a
new perspective challenge on learning how to connect with others

2:10pm- 3:10pm
You are the Key to Resident Self Advocacy (1CEU)
Speaker: Tiffany Carlson- Ombudsman
This session will focus on how to support the Resident Self Advocacy
and what we can support them to develop a Resident Council.
